I just noticed that some of us who were ccritical of the Z, F and Z offensive plan were referred to as "Fair Weather Friends".
Those that know me would find that label ridiculous. If I am not mistaken, I traveled to everyone of the 0-10-1 games. For years before the 90's, I would drive from Montgomery, Al. for most of the home games. Many times trips were down and back in one day,12 hours of driving. I spent four days traveling to and from the debacle in Arizona. I have been coming to games since the stadium seats were wood and the South inzone was a set of temporary bleachers. I watched both Doug Dickey and Steve Spurrier play for UF and return to coach.
I have consistently supported Zook on this board. And I continue to support the kids who are giving their all. But, the offensive game plan I watched Saturday was a totally incoherent, sophmorish Edsel by committee. It was designed to prevent the kids from winning.
Posters have attributed the plan to various members of the coaching staff.Who is at fault is not my concern. What is of concern is the distruction of our program. If Zook really wants to continue being the HBC at the UF, he is the one who needs to look at himself in the mirror, not the fans who continue to fill BHG. (and based on the number of tickets available before the game and the early departure of nay of the fans, this may not last).
Bringing recruits to witness such a pitiful offfensive coachin performance, is the quickess way to kill recruiting. We will be facing Dickey 78 and 79 types of recruiting years if changes are not made. As McEwen said back then, " we are on a roller coast to disaster".
No, I am not a "fair weather" friend. I just do not want total distruction of whatI spent 40 years helping to build.
