"Here we go...." |
![]() ![]() ![]() Here we go So yes this is a thing. The threatening gentlemen hitched atop of this fresh skin is called "I photoshopped deadpool to look like he's blue with some orange pieces". He's ready to "ball", as they say. More debutante than anything; meat wrapped in a pretty lace and flung about in front of old men. Here's my football opinions. Harris being named the starting QB going into game one is huge. It hints to a lot of things with respects to our offense and the progress our offense has made in the past half year. It caught me a bit by surprise because I had been hearing great things about our team this fall. I don't think this is high-tech pyschologizing a young player thing. This wouldn't be to stoke the fires of fierceness and ferocity and competition, etc, etc. Harris is the established veteran QB of the worst offense in the past 40 years of football at Florida, which is like being Somalia's secretary of agriculture, or Somalia's head of banking or Somalia's anything. Somalia's coast guard secretary of stopping pirates from robbing foreign cargo ships. Somalia sucks. It's a desert and their ocean is the closest thing an ocean can come to being a desert or that place on the human body that the GI track spills out (not to get cheeky) It says that Jim McElwain can't do any better than assembling the cast we had last year while losing a lot of our offensive linemen. The last 20 QBs who started for Florida, sans Driskel, could probably beat out Harris. Will Grier, what can I say man? Harris, you played great on a team that was really bad and nevermind, you played okay. No monkey paw magic for Florida everyone was hoping for in the off-season, just a refurbished old sofa. There are no silver linings with our offense and they will probably play up-and-down the entire year, relying on their defense to bail them out of situations. I actually think our defense will be good this year, not great, but good. Not as great as last years, but I honestly believe at some point in the next 4-5 weeks people will be bringing up the lack of recruiting on offense and they'll be more pissed off at our previous coach than they were when our previous coach was running our program into Somalia. We may have the best secondary in the nation, we may even have a good pass rush, but our run defense will be average against average teams and bad against good running teams. That's the weakness that will cost us games in the fourth quarter. And, btw, that guy will be white-washed by the media next year. Get ready for it. "They were a QB away from competing from championships" "Best defensive mind in the country" "He cleaned up Florida from Urban Meyer's regime. Let's go to Columbus with our interview with Urban Meyer, as classy a gentlemen as has ever coached football." I have heard a lot of great things about this coaching staff and half of it could possibly be true, but we should all stop shifting uncomfortably in our seats, head jerking from side-to-side, avoiding the reality that we don't have the peeps in our program that can win games against good teams. We do not. We are bad and the fans are going to feel bad this year. We have a very extremely good-to-great players scattered amongst a puddle of mediocre talent. Teams are going to gobble is up and what they don't gobble up will get hit repeatedly until they're a 6-foot-2-inch bruise. So to sum up, I think 7 wins is our absolute ceiling this year with reality being closer to 5-6 wins. Set your expectations down a notch. Everyone thinks positive to start the season, but by December you're going to be catching up on Game of Thrones. But even though the light is shimmering down from the rim of the toilet bowl, remember one thing, we didn't have that idiot Dooley like Tennessee. What's it like having the equipment manager coaching your team. Ask Tennessee. Also, Florida State will suck this year. Ohio State will be in the championship game again and every SEC team will likely have at least 2 losses and might get shut out from the 4-team playoff. It just ain't a great year to watch football, but hey Jon Snow will come back to life and so will we (maybe, possibly, if by accident). Additionally, watching South Carolina play made tonight the best night in the past few months because wow I missed football. And, also, I'm still me so there's that. |
