Tebow clearly had by far the better night in the Eagles’ 24-18 loss to the New York Jets

on Thursday. The QB battle was the major point of interest in a game in

which the Eagles sat 27 starters or first reserves, both to make sure

they’ll be healthy for the season opener Sept. 14 in Atlanta, and to

evaluate several players trying for the last of the 53 roster spots.Tebow,

who played the second and fourth quarter, was 11-for-17 passing for 189

yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. He also ran four times

for 32 yards.

Tebow had been thrown out with the scrubs and Barkley got shots with the 2nd teamers in the first three games. Of course Barkley's going to look good with the 2nd teamers when Tebow only gets the scrubs.

Well, they evened it up and gave them both the same personnel to work with and of course Tebow handled it much better than Barkley. Tebow had at least two big drops by receivers and a couple more that could have been caught, otherwise it would have been even more lopsided in his favor.

We finally got the apples to apples comparison I've been asking for and sure enough, Tebow out performs the "NFL QB" by a wide margin. That's because Tebow IS an NFL QB, and he's proven it over and over again. Despite Brian Billick's constant disparagement. That guy is unbelievable. At half time he says Barkley looked like he had control of the offense and Tebow looked mostly bad but led them to a TD drive. Barkley was horrible! He threw an INT on his first pass! The FG he led them to was all zone read handoffs to the RB.  Tebow had to almost single handedly move his team into scoring position every time.

The bias in the voices of some of these announcers is simply amazing and disturbing. Give Tebow some credit. And how anybody could say Barkley was anything but atrocious last night is absurd. Tebow won the spot under pressure. Fair and square. Give it to him.
