"This whole UT-UF thing (IF you think it's even a "rivalry") should be a whole lot different"

Starting with UT's win in 1998.

1999 - Lewis makes the 4th down and we win 24-23. It's in the bible.

2000 - The catch thing, etc. You have another down, throw another incompletion. Refs do their job, that's a win.

2001 - Should have been more like a 20 point win, but 2 will do.

2002 - No rain, we win. Clausen fumbled 4 times in the rain (I was there) and it just became a mental thing. We had SO much more talent and a great crowd. I'm calling W for the big orange, and not close. 54-17.

2003 - Score about right. I would have said something like 31-3 but 24-10 is fine.

2004 - I'll take the 2-point win but never should have been that close. Jesus.

So that's a 7 game win streak for UT roght thayre. Yikes.

2005 - The first "legitimate" win for the Gators since 1997. Fine, let the baby have his bottle.

2006 - Come on, a total win for UT. Mitchell's TD called back after an illegitimate penalty on Mapu? Thanks refs. We should have hired Bama's SEC lobbyists to protest that one. I mean, Mapu was going for the ball. Amazing how something a ref *thinks* he sees can reverse the outcome of an entire game.

2007 - The second legitimate win in a decade for Florida. We were outmanned yes, but you know - the refs, etc. Should have been more like 45-34.

2008 - We win that game with more talent, and if Tebow hadn't gone to UF. Just shows how some high school kid's decision where to go to school can make a difference in a game like this. I'll chalk this up as a win for UT, because we would have had a huge recruiting advantage after that 7-game win streak I just mentioned, and probably would have even gotten Tebow who I'm sure would have loved playing for Fulmer (who would never have been fired BTW). Anyway, I'm calling this one 24-10 UT.

2009 - With that recruiting advantage I just mentioned resulting from our extended winning streak over UF, we outman UF and it's worth a LOT more than the 10-point loss we suffered. UT wins 35-7.

2010 - The recruiting advantage holds over from our 3 SEC titles and 2 NCs, and it's a home game. Nuff said. Not nearly the talent and coaching gap there was with Dooley. Yes, UF won 31-17 so I'm not saying this is a blowout for the Vols. Something like 19-17. And this marks a 3-game streak for UT against UF and 9 out of 11 years - setting up another great recruiting run.

2011 - UT chooses a different QB and we win that game, obviously. I don't even remember which QB we played because, like the previous 6 games, I didn't actually watch the game. But a 10-point difference with UF at home, easily overcome with better players and coaches, come on now. I say the score is flipped. 4-games in a row.

2012 - UT won three quarters of that game and it should have been 4 were it not for our second-rate players getting gassed and Dooley doing what he does best - piss his pants when handed the Karaoke mic. 5 in a row, just like that. Goodness.

2013 - Ok, honestly I don't even remember what happened in this game and didn't know that it was the same score from a few years ago. All I know is.........yep, recruiting. That 5-game streak has us dominating the South in recruiting, with the probable added advantage of keeping Bama down. I won't even go into all the games we "actually" won against THEM the past few years. So obvious that it's not worth my time. Anyway, for the hell of it I'll say UT takes this one in a defensive battle 9-6. Why? I just TOLD you I don't remember. Get off my back already.

2014 - Come on (version 2). This was SUCH a win for UT. Just break one play here or there (ok, I didn't watch this one either). Anyway, better coaching and players blah blah blah, you know the drill, and UT takes this 27-10. Streak at 7.

So there you go. That's 14 out of 16 against Florida that UT basically won except for some kind of random-ass bounce or biased ref. And this year will be 15. I mean, how can you let a rival dominate you like that? For shame. There's room over at the Big Orange tent revival if you want to bail and get happier. No hard feelings, promise.

As for tomorrow, the last UT win over UF was also the last UT win over anybody I have attended. I would like to keep it that way so I'm not jealous of the UT fans who get to see it this year. Thanks in advance.
