Thanks. Not a conspiricay type. Just wondering if there was any reason or just an error.

The right hash would seem to be a pretty easy spot to recreate. Smile

This is a down indicator. All refs use this to track what down it is on the field. But umpires wear an extra one on the other hand -- they use this to indicate where on the field the ball was placed. In the pick above the band is on the index finger, which would mean the ball was placed on the left hash. Middle finger would be left upright. Ring finger would be right upright, and pinkie would be right hash.

On the FG try last night, the umpire SHOULD have had his indicator set on the pinkie, which would tell him when he had to re-spot the ball to place it on the right hash.  It possible he had his indicator set wrong from the previous play and didn't fix it, I dunno. But the photos clearly show he screwed it up.
