"They're doing about all they can given the weaknesses we had" |

Message Replied To ========== Lots of growing up on that O line last night UT's D line is good. Man this team is young nd getting huge playing experience. We are going to have some losses soon, but dang good coaching and rebuild job by this staff. ============================== We will definitely incur some losses soon. We knew our chances of winning the SEC were pretty much nonexistent this year given the extreme youth on the OL, at QB and the lack of gamebreaking WR's. Think about what's been done since last December....acquired 6 Freshman OL, as well as 2 good fresham Tailbacks we were dead in the water with previously as well as one good 4 star WR who looks like he's really gonna be a good one. In the offseason we picked up 2 transfers at OL, one at QB/WR and one at LB. We got the IPF built. We got half of the desperately needed upgrades to the dorms done and a commitment to get the other half done next offseason. We now are starting to see a real Offense, a real QB and a real passing game for the first time in 5 years. Suddenly our WRs can actually catch passes...ones that hit them in stride. Now that the TE position is no longer used as a dumping ground for failed 2 and 3 star DE's that position to has re-emerged as a significant weapon. Amazing what a difference having a real coach makes. |

-- Starred by: PC Gator gatorvette1012 Thunder Danda The Shot Doctor -- “Every man should endeavor to understand the meaning of subjugation before it is too late… It means the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern schoolteachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the war; will be impressed by the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit objects for derision… It is said slavery is all we are fighting for, and if we give it up we give up all. Even if this were true, which we deny, slavery is not all our enemies are fighting for. It is merely the pretense to establish sectional superiority and a more centralized form of government, and to deprive us of our rights and liberties.” Maj. General Patrick R. Cleburne, CSA, January 1864 "I yet believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people, not only essential to the adjustment and balance of the general system, but the safeguard to the continuance of a free government. I consider it as the chief source of stability to our political system, whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it."
