"Haven't read much of the game comments here yet, but from my view way up high in Death Valley"

We were really disappointed in Harris. He stays in the pocket too long, throws past open guys to ones who are covered, and with the game on the line when LSU knew we had to pass, he seemed overwhelmed. I realize this sounds harsh, and he definitely made some plays last night, but he took too many sacks for a guy with his mobility. The grounding penalty took us out of any scoring opportunity. Our offense only scored 14 points if you take away the gift-wrapped muff by LSU.

Having said all that, Harris can improve. He can win games for us. But he can and hopefully will play better.

The defense giving up those big passing plays was also disappointing, especially their last score in the first half. After that I said we couldn't let them score any more points or we wouldn't win, and that turned out to be the case.

Has anyone mentioned Coach Mac's decision to go for it on fourth and long in our own end of the field on our next-to-last possession instead of punting? As it turns out, we did get the ball back, but instead of getting it near midfield (had we pinned them deep at their end) we had to drive the field with no timeouts, and couldn't do it. I thought it was a questionable decision at the time, but I'm just a guy up in the stands not the one having to make that call.

Lest this post only be negative, I was glad to see the resilience we showed in the second half. Harris did make some plays with his arm and legs, and the defense played really well in the second half -- they kept us in it and we had a shot to win, but LSU ended up making one more big play than we did.

This was my first trip to Death Valley, and it did not disappoint. Their fans were great, atmosphere was fun, and we had a great time up until the final score.

It's awesome to see Gator football be fun again. We played at top-ten team to the wire in their house and left with our heads held high. We're so far ahead of where anyone thought we'd be at this point, so a win last night would have been awesome, but the loss does not diminish what this team has accomplished. Time to get ready for the Dwags and win an SECE title -- as Coach Mac says, that'd be pretty cool. :)
