As many of you are probably aware I didn't attend the UT game as the day before my, Parrothead Gator's, and Dr. X's Father passed away. He was and remains a great Gator being in the UF Class of '52. At the risk of sounding preachy folks the UT loss is SO damn insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Yes, I say that relative to my Father as my mental state quite honestly since hearing the news has been in shambles. I've had moments of not thinking about it relief but not for long. Then the reality of it all hits me again and I hit rock bottom. I'm sure any of you who have been in my shoes can relate. We did watch the UT game at my brother-in-law's on his 52" big screen and after the "Hail Mary" landed at the end of the half I will say it is a good thing I didn't have a brick or my brother-in-law would have been minus a TV set. What I at least primarily mean about the UT game being "not the end of the world" is this: We win this Saturday, we're in just as good as shape as say Georgia in terms of winning the east. We'd be 1-1 as they currently are. The Vols have UGA left to play to say nothing of at Bama as well as at Auburn. Potential wins but no more so than potential losses. Sure we have our work cut out as well and it begins this Saturday. I for one like the move with Leak. Love Ingle to death but Leak is simply a more accurate passer. Also, I like the rest of you agree about opening things up some and am glad to hear that Zooker plans to. I also think there wouldn't be half the bitching and moaning about "throwing it downfield" had many of the intermediate routes that God Bless him Ingle flat out misses...often would be completed. I'm not in any way pinning the "L" to UT on Ingle. The fact remains however that one recurring theme with him at least in this Gators' opinion is his penchant for missing people W I D E A S S O P E N! Starting Leak isn't a cure all but IMO it is a step in the right direction. One last parting shot.... This isn't directed at anyone in particular but what has really bothered me is how many in the Gator Nation went on all summer with the rhetoric of "Ok we're young so we have to be patient and brace for a potentially tough year, yada, yada, yada" and then when that very thing seems to be indeed a reality now some of those same fans go ape sh_t. Think about it. A knee jerk reaction and a fat wallet doesn't make one a better or more knowledgeable fan. Not trying to sound "Rah Rah" but bottom line, there's a bunch of ball to be played folks. I firmly believe we'll be in the thick of the race all year and if we aren't, "In all kinds of weather"...... Thanks for the vent session. I rather suspect I'll be relying on the VS to help get by for the forseeable future.
