Much of their success was based on their intimidation factor...like Tyson, they won many contests before the bout started.  But after years of getting punched in their own mouths, they lost the aura of invincibility and now they are basically a small school with less than mediocre fan support, embarrassing facilities, and a stadium that is a one hour drive from campus...clinging like a kid who peaked in high school to their past.  The bulk of their fan support was from local kids who couldn't find campus with a helicopter and a GPS...those kids have long since grown and have pawned their Ed Reed jerseys and snorted away the proceeds.

I saw an interview with former cane Randall (The Thrill is Gone) Hill.  He discussed the idea of putting together a committee of former players to pick the new coach.  Really?  Take the same thugs who destroyed your school's reputation and put them in charge of the next chapter.  Good plan.

Having lived here most of my life and having endured years of maximum obnoxiousness and disgusting arrogance pretty much every time I turned on talk radio, read the paper, or put on local sports...I am not embarrassed to say I am enjoying this immensely.
