Every year I'm asked if I'm going to Jacksonville.  Actually, when I went, it was always to St. Simons or Jekyll Island, and was only in JAX for the afternoon of the game.  It's the question of the week, every year during this time. 

Actually, my last game was 2008.  We watched the excitement of 2007, reveled in the penalty after the touchdown, and were overjoyed at the win.  But I didn't go to that game.  Okay, I reasoned, 2008 looked even better.  Got tix, convinced the wife that this was the year, met our best friends in St. Simons, and we went to the game.

 By the middle of the third quarter, my wife and my friends (both so-called, at the time) had gone back to the bus, leaving me and thousands of my friends disguised as empty stands, sitting to watch (most of) the rest of the game.  Got lost from the bus after leaving the stadium, took a leak in a dark corner, just waiting for the po-po to show-show (they didn't), and calling the (so-called) wife to find out where the He** they were.  I finally rendezvous'd with 'em.  Never again, I swore. 

And I've made it stand up.  I ain't going back.  I sell my tix to other Dawg fans, and stay at home and reminisce about the good ole days (you know, until Dooley left).

Well, I'm back here once again.  I haven't read Statsman and his latest, but am looking forward to it, if he has put one out.  But I'm here to once again congratulate the "other side" for a rivalry scarcely few can touch, and all admire.  I'm proud of the 50/50 split (although it may be more like 55/45 UF/UGA this year), and the energy put forth by both teams and fans.

I tip my cap to the Gator nation.  Begrudgingly, but honestly.  Ya'll got the worst fans around (which, coming from an opponent, usually means 'ya'll got the best fans in the world, for the opposition, that is).  I hope for a good game, no injuries, and a Dawg win. I won't be surprised if it goes the other way, though.

And one final thing - if you happen to see a UGA fan in a dark corner, with his head on a swivel, please distract the po-po long enough for him to bolt.  He'll thank you later.
