"It was ugly and beautifull all at the same time..."

For the longest time I thought Muschamp was on the sideline with how the offense looked. Then I remembered that the Gators have no QB after Treon and that means they are limited in what they can do. They are also limited in what they can do because of this young, patchwork offensive line. That this line even knows how to line up properly is a credit to Coach Summers. Having said that, I don't believe in coaching or playcalling scared and maybe that ends now that they are in the SECCG. I am not sayin to take unneeded risks but call more to Treon's strengths.

I was very happy for Austin Hardin. He seems like a good kid that was losing his confidence. Many times making a kick like that, when the pressure was really on, boosts that confidence and they play better from that point on. I hope that happens, not just because I want the Gators to win but because it will be good for that young man.

I agree with everyone here on the targeting call. It was not targeting. It was a textbook tackle. The facemask was up, he had already started extending his arms for the tackle and the QB ducks in preperation for the hit and he intiates what could be construed as helmet to helmet. There should have been no call.

I have never been a fan of replay. I think the game is played by humans on the field let it be called by humans on the field. Since replay has been implemented nothing has changed that opinion. They get just as many things wrong only now the time in which the game is played is longer. I think replay in the Gator game was wrong at least 3 times. The TD the Gators scored that reversed. There was no clear evidence to overule the call. A Gator fumble should have been reversed and was not. Finally, and most egregiously, the targeting call should have been over turned. I think the refs are using replay as a crutch and/or scapegoat and that is keeping them from doing thier job on the field. I can live with a wrong call on the field. What is real hard to live with is a wrong call on the field and the false hope of replay correcting it. From the Chris Leak pass-fumble at Auburn to the bad targeting call yesterday it has not improved the game or made the officiating any better. It has, in fact, been more frustrating when the call is wrong.

The defense was fun to watch. One bad play. I love good defense.

I am convinced we have the right guy leading this program. I can't wait until all of his type of players are here and he can run the offense he wants to run. We saw a glimpse of it as Will Grier was getting better. He coaches to win even though I thought they coached scared a lot yesterday.

I have a lot of respect for Treon. I never heard a word of complaint from him while Will was starting and playing a majority of snaps. When called upon he goes in a does the best he can behind an offensive line that is being duct-taped together. He has his limitations, just like we all do, but he has a winning record as the starter at UF. He represents what I hope all Gator players would like to be: a good guy that works hard and gives everything he has for his team, his school and his family.

Having a clear faith, based on the creed of the church, is often labeled today as a fundamentalism. We are moving towards a dictatorship of relativism, which does not recognize anything as definitive and has as its highest value one's own ego and one 's own desires.-Pope Benedict XVI

THE YOUNG DEAD SOLDIERS DO NOT SPEAK

Nevertheless they are heard in the still houses: who has not heard them?

They have a silence that speaks for them at night and when the clock counts.

They say, We were young. We have died. Remember us.

They say, We have done what we could but until it is finished it is not done.

They say, We have given our lives but until it is finished no one can know what our lives gave.

They say, Our deaths are not ours: they are yours: they will mean what you make them.

They say, Whether our lives and our deaths were for peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot say: it is you who must say this.

They say, We leave you our deaths: give them their meaning: given them an end to the war and a true peace: give them a victory that ends the war and a peace afterwards: give them their meaning.

We were young, they say. We have died. Remember us.
