Message Replied To ========== "Politically correct." I'm already incredibly sick of that phrase but applying it in this instance is just . . . well, it's wrong. It's incorrect. It has no attachment to reality. Taking in the tired, the poor, the huddled masses has never been the politically correct thing to do in this country but it's what we've always done and it has overwhelmingly been to our benefit. Most of us are only here because of this country's willingness to take people like this in.============================== Foreign radicals were kept out. Massive migrations were detained and many sent back. 3,500 died at Ellis Island in detention. Later, we had quotas. Immigration has never been a free for all. I am not opposed to them coming but not until a true plan to assimilate them in economically and to screen out the radicals. |
