"This isn't a rivalry "between two great schools", a phrase often said by either media or alums on either side trying to "make nice". The University of Florida is a great school. FSU quite frankly, isn't. It ain't bad but it's nothing special. Deep in their souls, they know this to be true and it is that fact that eats at them like a festering sore. It is this reality that makes them hate us so. By fielding a football team, if successful against UF, the real Flagship University of the state, it gives them the fleeting illusion that they are on UF's level. Such feelings experienced by them MUST be kept at a minimum amount if any at all. The fact is regardless of the result of a football game, they will NEVER be on UF's level but it is the duty of UF to serve them an annual reminder that even in football, which is the only reason anyone outside of Leon county has ever heard of their school, that they are not on the level of UF. Their perpetual existence and mindset of screaming from the roof top about how they are as good as UF even though they know the opposite to be true MUST not be encouraged even temporarily via the result of a football game. They languish in misery infinitely because of who they are to begin with. Their very lives for being in the FSU camp is an open wound. Our duty is to pour salt in it once a year.
