he was the only proven...OK somewhat proven...legit QB on the roster.  I would rather 3-4 more starters on Defense go pro and Grier return than the opposite....which will now be the case.

That's short term "manage the company so the quarterly report looks good" thinking instead of considering the long haul.

As others have said, I think it's completely unrealistic to think Grier was going to step in game 7 and pick up right where he left off.  And if he's needed THAT badly at that point, the season is likely lost anyway.

We've got a great coaching staff that has already EARNED our patience by somehow winning 10 games with a hand that wasn't well dealt (to put it mildly).

I'm not upset about this at all.
