starting a new thread continuing from the one below. I think Floey does and amazing and incredible job, he aib't perfect but is the best AD in the business imho.

I love athletic facility improvements and would love to have the best facilities in every sport and facility. But I think fiscal responsibility is paramount and some of the facility arms race is going to bite some of the competition.

Item, our litlle sister school here in clown town is doing some major renovations ( some of the erector set has never been more that a beautiful brick facade) now at their stadium that may be impressive but we will see how things work out with the huge bonding risk they took. The sow's Board of Trustees approved issuing up to $85 million in bonds to pay for upgrades to the stadium the school anticipates could cost $79.5 million. The upgrades would include structural repairs, re-painting the stadium, updated skybox suites and a new premium outdoor seating section.The centerpiece of their project is their Champions Club, which will have more than 5,000 outdoor cushioned seats, 70,000-square feet of air-conditioned club and 34,000-square feet of covered rooftop rebuilt terraces. Only about half of them have sold thus far and it will be interesting to see how this affects sideline sales and imho a couple of bad luck seasons combined with the general nature of ticket sales may be a mess for them. We'll see, as they are pretty capable at getting taxpayer relief when necessary.

I'm with CTony and would like to see baseball stadium cover and improvements

Wow. I just slogged through some of the basketball posts, rants, responses, etc. Someone was having a bad day it seems lower down on the page.

A couple of things as this alum sees them. Those on this page can raise all of the hell that they want, complain all they want, and wish for Foley to be replaced (or not) but not one single person here has the ability to get him fired or even into hot water. You can spew anger, name call other posters, and try to tear down folks. Foley's a gator running the show for as long as he wants to be.  

No one truly appreciates the 1000's of micro decisions the CEO of a $100M+ business like Athletics has to make.  Some are bad, some resonate, some make the press, others costs revenue (Muschump) and tarnish the brand.  Some are brilliant, some are ... head scratching. In 1999 SOS lost the last three games, including the bowl game (Citrus) to a team from Michigan. 7 years later, Gator football won it all.  

 Overall, the state of UF Athletics seems to be heading up. Across all sports? Obviously not.  But these inescapeable truths: The only program that can really lay claim to elite status in college football and college basketball over the past 20 years isn't Ohio State. It's Florida. The Gators, who've won two hoops national championships in four Final Four showings since 1995-96, also have the second most title-game appearances in football, along with the fourth-highest win percentage since 1995.
