"Why signing 4 the top 50 recruits in the state of Florida is misleading..."

Edited by Author at 2/3/2016 - 6:38 p.m.

Depending on what list you use, this breakdown is from the 247 Sports Composite;

10 of the top 50 attended IMG Academy, those players had almost no ties to the Sunshine State. Of the IMG players only 1 signed with an in-state school and he shall remain nameless. That player allegedly had grade issues and plummeted down the ratings when he wasn't very effective playing at a heavier weight,but that is another topic.

14 of the 50 play WR.  I think UF did fine at wide receiver.

Once you get down toward the bottom of even the state's 50 best players you get guys going to Pitt,USF,and G Tech- I don't think UF was in on all these guys.

Miami did sign 10 but their class was ranked #20 in the composite so maybe that wasn't a key.

FSU signed 7, 8 if you count the IMG troll. But of FSU's top 8 guys in their class only 4 were from Florida.

Focusing on Florida, leaves out the top guys UF got from other states.

Instead of saying UF only got 4 of the top 50, you could say UF got 4 of the top 26 in Florida(and don't forget 7 of the top 25 are IMG).

You could say UF got 3 of the top 16 in Alabama, #5 and #11 from Miss, #4 and #25 from UGA, #3 from Texas, and #11 from Michigan.
