Does anyone know what these lyrics mean?
(and as i read them, I realize this song has one of those mistaken lyrics things for me like we were discussing the other day...I always thought it was "too rich for charity")
Stuck inside these four walls
Sent inside forever
Never seeing no one
Nice again like you
Mama you, mama you
If I ever get out of her,
Thought of giving it all away
To a registered charity.
All I need is a pint a day
If I ever get outta here
If we ever get outta of here
Well, the rain exploded with a mighty crash
As we fell into the sun
And the first one said to the second one there
I hope you're having fun
Band on the run, band on the run
And the jailer man and sailor Sam
Were searching every one
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Well, the undertaker drew a heavy sigh
Seeing no one else had come
And a bell was ringing in the village square
For the rabbits on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
And the jailer man and sailor Sam
Were searching every one
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Yeah the band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Well, the night was falling as the desert world
Began to settle down.
In the town they're searching for us everywhere
But we never will be found
Band on the run
Band on the run
And the county judge who held a grudge
Will search for evermore
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run

(and as i read them, I realize this song has one of those mistaken lyrics things for me like we were discussing the other day...I always thought it was "too rich for charity")
Stuck inside these four walls - Walter Wrightheart was a noted raquetball player before turning to music
Sent inside forever - he feared being forced to become a professional raquetballer
Never seeing no one
Nice again like you - His girlfriend at the time Lindsey Eddlestone
Mama you, mama you
If I ever get out of here,
Thought of giving it all away -he is speaking of changing his name to McCartney abandoning RB and Lindsey
To a registered charity. - he laments his raquetball life and the hopelessness of escaping it
All I need is a pint a day - Self explanatory, but all he wants is a #badword#ing beer, just one a day would suffice.
If I ever get outta here - despair
If we ever get outta of here - false hope that maybe he could take Lindsey with him
Well, the rain exploded with a mighty crash - the Great Storm of 1954 which wrecked the Liverpool RB court
As we fell into the sun - this symbolizes his rebirth as McCartney the musician after the death of his RB career
And the first one said to the second one there
I hope you're having fun - Lennon welcoming him into the music business
Band on the run, band on the run - He felt always pursued by the calling he narrowly dodged
And the jailer man and sailor Sam - Dan Fuspot his RB agent and Fuspot's enforcer
Were searching every one - they were pursuing all of McCartney's friends in an effort to find where he was
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Well, the undertaker drew a heavy sigh - Wrightheart's parents wanted him declared dead from the 54 flood
Seeing no one else had come - Fuspot and Sailor Sam never found him
And a bell was ringing in the village square - The funeral for Wrightheart
For the rabbits on the run - He is the rabbit, hoping never to be caught and identified
Band on the run
Band on the run
And the jailer man and sailor Sam
Were searching every one
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Yeah the band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Well, the night was falling as the desert world - After Liverpool dried out
Began to settle down. - things returned to normal
In the town they're searching for us everywhere - Some still suspect Wrightheart wasn't really dead
But we never will be found - McCartney feels secure in his new identity
Band on the run
Band on the run
And the county judge who held a grudge - Judge Hobblequick was in the pocket of Fuspot
Will search for evermore - He refused to accept the death declaration, but they were looking for the wrong man
For the band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
Band on the run
