Message Replied To ========== But he doesn't see the denying of constitutional rights of others which is the outcome of forcing everyone to bow down and validate every decision made by the LGBT crowd. The very people refusing to not play music, allow sports events to occur etc. in states where citizens have attempted to pass laws that don't acquiesce to the transgender folks are doing exactly what florists, photographers etc. have been prosecuted for....denying to ply their profession over a disagreement over an issue. Blind hypocrites all of them....but like all PC issues, only one side of the issue is acceptable and all others are demonized, hated and must be crushed.============================== An artist (or creator) should not be compelled to create anything they don't want to because of the First Amendment (freedom of speech).
A band does not have to accept every gig. An attorney does not have to accept every client. A baker does not have to bake every cake.
But public businesses can't prevent anyone from buying what is already made. So, if the band is selling CDs in their own shop, they can't discriminate on who they sell it to. If the baker has cakes already in the display case, anybody can buy them if they have the money.
The difference is in what is being bought. The public has non-discriminatory access to the products of one's creativity. But the public does not non-discriminatory access to a person's creativity.
An artist can turn down a commission for any or no reason. |
