You cannot expect Bad people to self regulate themselves.  They simply aren't going to do it.   At the same time, you should not put yourself in a position to increase the odds that something bad is going to happen to you.

Brock Turner is an asshat and a half for what he's done.  He deserves more punishment than he got.

However, the girl should know better than to go to a party where she knew no one and get absolutely #badword# faced falling down drunk.  In that respect she certainly increased the odds that something bad was going to happen to her.  

If the world were full of people that were always going to act in a good manner, then we wouldn't be in the #badword# storm that we are in today.
