"That's twice you've mentioned that meds used to control psychosis may lead to violence" |
|
Message Replied To ========== The VT shooter is irrelevent to this incident NOTHING TO DO WITH IT AT ALL. To draw some connection is just ridiculous and beyond irrational. I will agree that the VT shooter like many of the other shooters have had real and on-going issues with major psychological problems and many of the meds associated with the treatment of those items. I'm not sure about Major Hassem, but may of the recent Islamic nut jobs don't seem to have that in common with Sandy Hook, Columbine, Aurora, VT, , Charleston or the other dozen or so mass shootings since Columbine. ============================== Besides the church of Scientology where would you get that idea? The overwhelming majority of crimes committed by people with mental illness are done when they are not medication compliant. I have never found any studies that show that anti-psychotic meds cause violent outbursts. In fact patients discharged from psychiatric facilites that don't abuse drugs or alcohol had a rate of violence the same as their neighbors. |
