From where I sit, which is right in the middle of where attacks have been occurring all year, we are in the throes of a clash of civilizations. We are at war with an enemy that is viscious, creative, and relentless. Immigration is merely another way of bringing the fight to our soil. The first major success in modern times, of course, was when a large number of men we allowed in used the opportunities we provided to go to flight school in the U.S before killing 3,000 of our citizens in one day. It doesn't mean all immigrants want us dead or that they won't assimilate; it merely means that many western countries are doing a poor job at protecting its citizens while helping those who truly need the help. As a result, those who do need help are seeing their chances lessen with each attack. That will lead to desperation, which will create another set of consequences.
