"Yes, they do, in fact, take everything to 11. That is why it " |
|
Message Replied To ========== Well, there were plenty with good reason, but this is unprecedented because as usual the Republicans have to take everything to an 11. While you are busy googling, find an example of a delegate for Gore or Kerry being interviewed by the SS for threatening the GOP candidate.============================== is absolutely comical for the Dems to act like they are shocked when they do. A perfect example is the Senate. When the Dems expanded the use of the filibuster in the 2000s, it was absolutely predictable that the Rs would "take it to 11" with the filibuster when they were in the minority. More recently, when the Dems decided to exercise the nuclear option in 2013 re: judicial nominees, it was obvious that the Rs were going to shut down Obama's nominees the moment they were back in the majority. Hell, they basically said as much when the Dems were threatening it. That idiot Harry Reed did not care about the obvious fall out, he just wanted to stick it to the Rs. God help us all in the next four years because both of these egotistical a-holes are just going to try to rule by fiat because they feel empowered by Obama's short-sided, utterly stupid "pen and phone" strategy. Sometimes, you have to think longer than the next election cycle but neither party seems capable of that at this point Back when I did campaigns for both parties, we always said that Rs play to win and Ds play not to lose. The only difference is that when Ds lose, it is never their fault - either the Rs cheated or the voters were too stupid to vote for the Ds. Working for Rs was a lot more fun, I can tell you that. I wouldn't work for either today. |
