Instead use the church to make the case.

I think I saw a stat that 75% of all abortions are performed on Christian/Catholic women. Talk about hypocrisy.

Abortion is possibly the most difficult decision a woman can make and the Christian church is hell bent on turning these woman away and shaming them at a time when they may be most open to spiritual guidance. Exactly what Jesus would do.

And then they think if we can simply make abortion illegal, then the 'problem' will go away. Out of sight, out of mind. And then he can mark his checklist that he did his part. 

I find that a bit of a broad brush.  This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and while the issue of abortion can certainly be debated, can others, as well?  What about criminal laws which find their basis in the Ten Commandments?  Surely we wouldn't describe laws against murder, rape, stealing, etc. to be "forcing one's religion on others.  

It is in issues where there is deep-rooted sentiments & disagreement where either side generally feels compelled to resort to such 'broad-brush' accusations, imo ....... and where proscriptive or prescriptive legislation is desired/abhored, predicated on which side of the argument one stands.  That one's beliefs on any issue may coincide with their faith doesn't necessarily make the issue strictly a "faith-based" issue more than a legal one.  Ergo, it might be fair to rail against the imposition of anothers views through legislative edict  rather than claiming someone is necessarily attempting to force their faith/religion on us.
