While reviewing his credentials, I found no evidence of the following: - Apparently he never flunked out of college... TWICE - Apparently he wasn't the esteemed President of a community college - Apparently he wasn't nominated by one of his back-room political buddies - Apparently his confirmation wasn't voted on by said political buddies who also happen to be outspoken legislative boosters of the school - Apparently at no time in his previous Utah presidency did he take repeated time to personally counsel a football player with a history of on-field unsportsmanlike transgressions and off-field legal difficulties - Apparently at no time did he take the time to personally counsel the starting quarterback on his "adjustment issues" and "teammate relation concerns" - Apparently he never gave an "excellent" employee review grade to his athletic director who oversaw a program which made no improvement in their overall Director's Cup standings, violated NCAA rules, violated state Sunshine Laws, and allowed a known habitual gambler (and possible point shaver) to start at quarterback - Apparently he never reprimanded said athletic director for giving "excellent" employee reviews to his NCAA Compliance Officer after his obvious Sunshine Laws violations and improper player eligibility investigations, and to his Head Football Coach for outright perjury during a state criminal investigation - Apparently he never lied to state media correspondents saying his athletic department was no longer under NCAA rules infraction investigation while said investigation is still ongoing. - Apparently he has never taken the time to welcome a major state newspaper sports columnist to a lenghty meeting and personnel luncheon in the apparent hopes of heading off future negative columns and deflecting current criticism of his athletic department - Apparently he has never taken personal meetings and made state-funded trips to meet influential athletic adminstrators from institutions that he hopes will renounce their binding conference affiliations and join his current athletic conference in the hopes of improving it's poor national reputation and bargaining power during the upcoming ABC Television network negotiations - Apparently he has never made the condition of his athletic department and the welfare of it's football team his main presidential responsibility while at the same time having the audacity to concentrate on academic concerns and improving the school's overall national research standing I'm sorry, I just don't think our new guy is qualified to lead the state's oldest, largest, and most prestigious institution of higher learning.
