Message Replied To ========== Color me unimpressed with Vols. I know, I know, it was the first game and AppySt is better than people think, but that Vol team definitely doesn't look like a dominant football team in any phase of the game, IMO. I thought we'd see 'em go all road grader on the much smaller AppSt team in the second half and grind out to a 2 or 3 TD win, but didn't happen, think they rushed for only about 120 yards in the whole game..... On the other hand, Appy rushed for almost 200 on the Vols. Maybe UT overlooked 'em a bit, but I don't know...... BBG ==============================as I'm inclined they're going do a collective "Whew!" and get their act together. Or at least they better. I agree with you though in that the biggest surprise to me was how App State really handled them up front much of the game. I did laugh at Butch when he said, (paraphrasing) "Nothing went our way tonight but we still found a way to win and that's what championship teams do." ARE YOU F'ING KIDDING ME BUTCH? Nothing went your way? How about.... - A missed extra point? MISSED, NOT BLOCKED. - A missed field goal which was very makeable? Again, MISSED, NOT BLOCKED. - Your winning touchdown being a fumble recovered in the endzone? Don't kid yourself Butch. Plenty and I mean PLENTY went your way. |
