Message Replied To ========== Most of the American public never heard of Gary Johnson (or Jill Stein) until a few months ago It's unrealistic to expect them to take it seriously. ==============================Just because they're different doesn't make them better. Or even equally bad.
Despite their statement of individual rights being unrestrained save for where they impact another person's rights it would actually result in a free market doctrine run roughshod over a population ill-equipped to do battle legally when corporate actions and desires impinge on personal freedom and safety. Forget legislation - let the courts settle it. Good luck with that. Even if you can muster the resources to obtain representation to thwart corporate legal teams the cases will be litigated over years, perhaps decades, such that by the time you "win" you've already lost everything.
As for abortion it seems they are fine with third trimester terminations without extenuating circumstances at the whim of the person who is pregnant: "Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration."
They also want every parent to educate their kid however they see fit to their financial ability. This would deepen the stratification of class in America where the wealthy would be able to afford quality education and the rest would fight over the lesser options. Truly the beginning of the end of America as a world power.
These are just a few of my objections. If you lived on the frontier in 1840 this would be a hell of a plan, in a modern society it is harmful and basically unworkable. It is not a valid option unless you truly wish to burn the whole thing down and create personal freedom (under the thumb of businesses and corporations rather than government) at great expense and discomfort while living in an obscenely stratified society with some absolutely horrible realities. For me it is a terrible third option only exceeded by the unmitigated nightmare of a Trump presidency.
Let's not even talk about Stein and her collection of lunatics and bad ideas. |
