Message Replied To ========== I had mixed emotions about our choice for Head Football Coach when we got Muschamp. I felt a little better about the McElwain pick but now I am having slight misgivings. I just can't really get enthused about his methods and results. I usually don't post negative feelings and statements but I sure am getting tired of not having any confidence in our team the leadership. We are just not in a good place. I hope he gets it together and makes me an alarmist with no cause. ==============================I almost posted something about this having read all the "see? you can't blame Muschamp for the loss on Saturday" posts. Seriously??? We have 6...SIX guys who actually contribute anything at all on Offense who were even on this team 2 years ago. Yes half the team. Only 6 real players left over from the Muschamp regime. They are: Sharpe, Dillard, Worton, Lewis, Powell, Goolsby. The only one that might possibly maybe at some future date earn any kind of all conference recognition judging by their play so far is Goolsby. I'm not sure any even see the field on Urban Meyer's teams when he was here. EVERY one of our 4 QBs is new. EVERY one of our 4 Running Backs is new. At WR, Callaway, Swain, Hammond and Cleveland are all Coach Mac recruits as is Massey were he not injured. 13 of our 15 OL are Coach Mac recruits. Eddie Piniero is a Coach Mac recruit. In one full recruiting class and another transition class with just one month to recruit he has had to completely rebuild that entire side of the ball. We do not have a single Senior who is a real player on Offense. No wonder we don't have a lot of leadership and aren't all that cohesive and aren't very polished yet. We just played the 4th game a lot of these guys have been together. Somehow despite the flaming grease fire of what Muschamp left us on Offense, Coach Mac managed to win 10 games and get to Atlanta. That was a miracle. I think I've amply demonstrated that I will criticize the coaches whether that's popular or not if I think it warranted. In this case it is not. |
