... and I mean BLATANT hypocrisy ... exhibited by the league office and several school administrations wrt that.  The action taken against Florida may have been based on reasonable cause, but it was applied retroactively .... had never been done before or since, even though there are several instances where such application of vacating a title easily could have occurred using the same reasoning.  And the BIGGEST of these was the VERY NEXT YEAR when Tennesse "won" the SEC after finishing 2nd to an ineligible Florida team in 1985 ....... AND the Vols were found GUILTY of Major NCAA Violations that same year .... illegal recruiting & improper benefits .... by a program overseen by 2 of the biggest hypocrites ever to walk a sideline ...... Johnny Majors and Doug Dickey.  

There were other hypocritical programs voting against us at the spring meetings in 1985, including Georgia and Kentucky.  Vandy had never won squat, LSU has traditionally been relatively clean, and 0le Miss hadn't been relevent in so long they had no titles to take back.  As we recall, UF had no vote, while Alabama, Auburn, and Mississippi State voted to leave it alone.
