hardly any skill players wear any kind of knee pads any more I've noticed.

In that Pitt vs Va Tech game, I saw a Defensive End who looked like he was wearing just biking shorts under his jersey. No hip pads, no tail pad, no knee pads, nothing. I can't imagine taking a shot on a knee or right on a hip that had no pads.

and there were several instances where I found myself in some girl's apartment having sex on the floor. They didn't have the high quality, soft, Stainmaster carpet back then, so the rug burns were terrible on the knees. Knee pads would have been very useful at the time and they would have saved me from eventual scabs on the knees, but I guess the pads were a fad for some earlier generation because I never thought twice about trying to find some right before the fun started.

Wait...... you're talking about FOOTBALL knee pads. Ohhhhhh.
