Message Replied To ========== I didn't "predict" we'd lose the rest, but I have to admit I thought it was likely. I also disputed Gatorpower's assertion that losing the last 3 would "ruin" the program. Just want to go on record. ==============================We just won the SEC East and the owner of this message board would rather cannibalize his own because he's "right". There aren't two factions here, though some really seem to get off on pretending there are. That's actually a thing now. People actually think that's a thing worthy of their time and their arguments. The side game of being "righter" than others who post on this board seems absolutely boring to me right now. It excites some and that's fine. It's just one "side" that's doing this. There aren't two sides. It's everyone. It's all shades of grey and you only get pigeon holed into a group when someone feels like doing so to suit their needs. It just makes it frustrating as hell to post anymore. I mean, holy hell, I posted all the way in August that we'd be 11-3 and beat LSU (look in the HOF, it's there). I said before the game that I was optimistic about beating LSU and FSU. That at worst, we'd spit these games, but now my name is synonymous with our program being ruined. LOL. Some people here need enemies. They need "sides". They need to eat their own and engage in the BS because the side game makes their lives complete. I was excited as hell on Saturday to post here, but NOPE. I ended up getting too annoyed to post and now apparently that's what they want again because the stategy of culling the heard was soooo successful on Saturday? Man, this side game. I just want to post my thoughts. I never said our was ruined. I said it would be if: Tennessee lost, sending us to the championship game. Then we'd have to lose that game, along with LSU and FSU. And we'd be ruined, the same way Miami is ruined with all the talent in South Florida. The same way Texas is ruined, with all their money, facilities and control. The same way USCw is ruined, having once controlled the entire west coast. And rating across the board with football is down double-digits from last year. The NFL said viewing is down 13%. The 18-24 male demographic is down 25% with any football (college or NFL). ESPN is dying. Those show that the money is drying up and that school won't be able to afford the salaries and the upgrades. It will be harder to rebound. The same paradigm that created such wealth in college football can't be counted on in the future. If you are taking a dive now, there's a good chance only LUCK can bring you up because your chances on doing it alone are effectively ruined. But naw, instead of understanding why I wrote that opinion, it's easier for some to call me a "bad fan" LOL |
