Message Replied To ========== He was a lazy recruiter which had everything to do with his losing record vs fsu and miam and how he left the program with some major holes in the roster in 2002. ============================== He wasn't going to kiss some kid's punk ass to take a scholarship offer that said kid should be eternally grateful. Like Frank Sinatra, SOS did it his way. And it remains the all-time greatest coaching tenure in Florida Gator football history. Spurrier beat FSU when it counted most and competed with them better than anyone else in the nation at the time. Credit the Noles for their own run of greatness in those days. It wasn't our doing. At the end of the day, the competition with them made us better. He hardly ever played Miami. And they were pretty mediocre for most of those years anyway.
