a Republican Congress that will want to look the other way (as Conservative Americans have already amply demonstrated) or cover for him. I just doubt that Trump can go 4 years without multiple outrageous scandals finally stacking up or one giant unforgivable coming to light.  The only question is whether it will get so bad that even our Conservative American apologist friends find themselves with no choice but to  insist on removal.

I don't dislike Trump because he is a conservative.  I don't even know that he is Conservative.  I dislike him because all I have seen from him indicates that he is a principleless scoundrel who is now going to have the most powerful job in the world.   I find it quite annoying when Conservative Americans try to frame my concerns as partisan sources grapes.

 There's an interesting history lesson in the Post about Hamilton deciding to actively lobby for his most heated rival (Jefferson) in order to prevent a man he feared was dangerous for the republic from reaching the White House.

Hamilton was worried that our checks and balances might not be strong enough to overcome a powerful principleless scoundrel.
