"according to RAND and Goldman Sachs surveys"

Message Replied To ==========

Before the ACA an estimated 3,000 died every month due to no health insurance. Like a 9/11 every

month. The GOP is gonna own this.==============================

17.5 million have been insured under the ACA. But 9 million of that was by expanded Medicaid. 6.5 million lost their good private insurance and were forced into the exchanges because of the ACA. At most, only 3 million (likely less) obtained private insurance because of the ACA. Everyone else has seen premium increases between 10-20% which has now doubled the cost of their insurance. A family of four now has premium costs that preACA were $5,500 a year but are now averaging $15,000 a year. But what is worse, the politically motivated mandates in the bill has caused not only premiums but also deductibles to double (causing people to not seek care) and has limited networks (due to bundled payment systems outlined in the ACA ACO system) both of whoch are leading to poor outcomes and deaths due to the ACA. So, other than the 3 million getting subsidies, everyone else has been screwed by the bill with higher costs for LESS insurance.

I highly doubt most of those "protesting" losing their privileged position granted them by the ACA ever voted Republican anyway. The millions who did vote for the GOP want the ACA gone. None of the benefits of the bill that you cite required the heavyhandidness the bill brought to the practice of medicine or the insurance industry. Those things were born of ideological zealotry and payola to lobbyists.

The ACA was the worst piece of legislation passed in the past 50 years. It failed miserably and has never been popular with the American people. It needs to go away.
