Message Replied To ========== AGAIN, this isn't about UGA the Atlanta market is filled with fans from almost every program. Not just that, but we can look outside this market to all the others...and the national media. Like I said, nobody is talking about our football program and there are reasons for that, lack of dynamic talent is one of them. ==============================I didn't say recruiting doesn't matter....I said overhype. Some morons I hear even go so far as to blather "well team X had a good recruiting class so that's why I'm picking them to do great things". Obviously they haven't figured out that even IF the class really is that good, freshmen are generally going to get their asses kicked - even if they are more talented. Which brings me to the next point. I do not agree that we lack "dynamic" talent. For goodness sake, we signed five 4 star WRs last year. The Juco guy blew his knee out and 3 others played and they were all FRESHMEN. Our best was Callaway....a 2nd year guy. At Tailback we had a sophomore who the light bulb came on for after he didn't do that much as a FRESHMAN and a....wait for it....FRESHMAN as our #2 back. On the OL....and remember most OL are not really ready to go until year 3....we started Martez Ivey a 2nd year guy, Tyler Jordan...a 2nd year guy....Fred Johnson....a 2nd year guy, (after injury to the subpar starter which was all we were left by Chump) TJ McCoy....a 2nd year guy and Wanny Taylor...a FRESHMAN. Just look at that lineup. Its all full of Freshmen and 2nd year guys. Did you really expect them to look "dynamic" especially with chitty QB play? Get real. Hardly anybody is going to with that many young pups in the lineup and shaky QBs. Have a little patience before dogging these guys out and saying their talent is suspect. Sheesh. |
