"Is it minutiae....." |
|
Message Replied To ========== Thankyou for posting that I questioned the EU statistics because Sweden ranks #1 in rape but incredibly low in violent crime. That did not make sense...unless Sweden had a more broad definition of rape such that it could fall under a nonviolent crime category. As for Trump..he made a vague statement that could be taken to insinuate something without really saying it. But the reaction to him is over the top as well (maybe not as over the top as Trump is but over the top nonetheless). I am wondering if we are being played (again) under the guise of "if everything is outrageous than nothing is outrageous". Our media is concentrating so much on vague non-binding statements that it is difficult to follow actual POLICY changes that may be being developed. Other than the immigration EO, policy is not being covered. I mean this as a critique of both left and right...everyone is so vested in "attacking" Trump or defending him that very few actual know what his administration is doing. And, no, it should be obvious by now that none of us can do both. I am so disappointed in the US media for concentrating on minutia. I DON'T CARE WHAT TRUMP SAID ABOUT SWEDEN. I DO care about the supposed changes he is making to his immigration EO.============================== ...that Trump could have asked for background and intelligence info after watching the Fox News segment? He had plenty of time to do so, and chose not to, instead making a speech and then doubling down in tweets. We cannot believe or trust ANYTHING that comes out of his mouth. That's not minutiae. I get your point about distraction, but what are we supposed to do, completely ignore it? That's the path to normalization of something that should never be normalized. |
