"I don't think anybody has questioned that." |

Message Replied To ========== I have said this before ....and I still don't understand how anyone can argue it Mac has signed 2 full classes plus a partial one. His last class the top player (and only player) he signed in the top 100 players was in the high 80's. UF in the past normally comes close to signing 8-10 players in the top 100 ...as UGA and f$u did this year and this was Smart's first class with the Mutts. This is not normal for the Gators any way anyone tries to spin it. We need to get more top players to compete with the likes of Bama and f$u. They have kicked our teeth in the last few times we played them. No excuses guys...it needs to get better. And the funny thing is...Mac himself has admitted this on several occasions...yet some people here still say otherwise even when the man himself admits he (the staff) needs to get better at recruiting. Amazing... WL ============================== Several have disagreed with the constant over the top complaints and negativity often based on speculation, very incomplete information and a lack of appreciation for the size of the hole the previous coach and AD put UF's program in. Last December the speculation was that we were gonna lose the bowl game, have a terrible class outside the top 20 or even 30 and we're going to keep the same assistants and weren't going to address obvious deficiencies on the staff. We'll we killed Iowa, reeled in a top 10 class and made three staff changes so far that all point to improved recruiting......even though that has been steadily improving year on year as is. So......is there at least a temporary pause in the din of complaints by that same faction as all three situations worked out well contrary to their predictions? Of course not! The bitching and complaining about next year's class......49 weeks away is starting right up. Sheesh! Most of us are not saying no complaints are warranted but the orgasmic wallowing in anything negative or which can be predicted to be negative gets to be a bit much. |

-- Starred by: CoachTony gator1989 gatorvette1012 Narcoossee Gator Gator96 -- “Every man should endeavor to understand the meaning of subjugation before it is too late… It means the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern schoolteachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the war; will be impressed by the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit objects for derision… It is said slavery is all we are fighting for, and if we give it up we give up all. Even if this were true, which we deny, slavery is not all our enemies are fighting for. It is merely the pretense to establish sectional superiority and a more centralized form of government, and to deprive us of our rights and liberties.” Maj. General Patrick R. Cleburne, CSA, January 1864 "I yet believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people, not only essential to the adjustment and balance of the general system, but the safeguard to the continuance of a free government. I consider it as the chief source of stability to our political system, whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it."
