Meaning I appreciate how you have gone from debating pretty much every point relentlessly...to this!

I intensely debate subjects I a) know a lot (relatively) about and b) care a lot about. Sometimes less of one or the other, but always some of both. I pretty much ignore subjects that don't fit one or both of those criteria. The tax return thread below is a case in point. Don't know, don't particularly care, so I don't participate. ACA is another. I don't know much about it, care somewhat, but lots of people know more than I so I don't partiicpate so much.

What I am seeing in the lounge and in real life is that, to the point in my HOF'd post, people seem to want to make their mania your mania, and are deeply offended or perplexed if you don't participate or don't share their passions. It's not "don't give a sh-t". It's not "absolute extremes". It's picking and choosing.
