Since taking office, Trump has proved his most extreme critics correct. Even I recall thinking at some point...certainly he isn't going to be as terrible as he projected during the election? Right? Needless to say...I was wrong.

We are witnessing now the result of populism...a phenomenon that throughout history has produced terrible leaders who did terrible things.

These next 4 years will test this country and its people.

I remember being a child and seeing pictures from the Civil Rights Era, pics of regular Americana blocking schools from African-American students and spitting on them and thinking, "I will never be like them, I won't be on the wrong side of history."

Well, I think we are entering a cycle in which Americans will once again be tested. I absolutely believe Trump will have a presidency that will be looked back on similar to how we look back on George Wallace and his populist push for preserving segregation.

See, the thing about those people in those pics I referenced earlier...they likely considered themselves to be good people. But good people don't support bad things. We'll see how good this country is during the next 4 years.
