Message Replied To ========== Lexi Thompson/LPGA was leading final round until officials penalized her 4 shots. . . . Apparently a viewer called in and said that she marked her ball and replaced her ball an inch away from the marker during the third round. This was a 1' putt!!! They informed her on the 12 green that they had penalized her 2 shots for the ball infraction and 2 shots for signing an incorrect scorecard. She is now down by one on the 18th fairway. I hate it when viewers call in on stuff like this. It's not like she dropped a ball out of her back pocket. Penalize her during the round, not after she signs a scorecard. Apparently under the new rule changes that take place in a year or two, this would not be a penalty. ============================== |
