This place is candy land comparatively...even with me and others posting. 

I've seen the other boards. You're right... they are extremely negative. It seems that whoever complains the loudest thinks that they are heard. I am just doing my best to reduce that pessimistic attitude here. It has already pushed out a lot of good people, who had good insight (and still do). Unlike 247 and ESPN and other boards, this is a community. This board was full of friends and family. There were tailgates, events and social outreach.

I recall a couple of decades ago hearing optimism about whoever we recruited. "I wonder what the coaches see in this guy!?" We'd point to his speed, and if he wasn't fast, then we would get excited about his stature, and if he wasn't big, then he must be smart. Now, we expect a perfect specimen or bust. If he isn't all ready highly ranked nationally, then he must suck; never mind the fact that he just committed to play for our alma mater. 

I for one expect great things from Deontai Williams. I believe that our current coach has proven he has a knack for finding those low rated recruits who are diamonds in the rough. There is something positive in that young man's character, athleticism and/or intelligence that made him deserve a 6-figure scholarship offer. We've had smaller safties who succeeded in the SEC. This kid is still a kid... more importantly, he has committed to being a Gator. I suggest that we welcome him first before we start throwing rocks.
