The responsiblity for today's events belongs to one person:  the shooter.

The Capitol Police were heroic in preventing a much greater tragedy.

The Democrat baseball team is having the Republican team over for dinner tonight. That's a good thing. The bipartisanship (at least mostly) seen today from our elected representatives was refreshing. It probably won't last, but better collegiality is good for all of us. We really need to get back to the days of Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neill arguing all day about policy, and then having a beer together at night. It's all gotten way too personal on Capitol Hill, and it has trickled down to the populace at large.
