genuinely concernned about the guy who is president and what his impact is going to be on our democracy. that's where my "angst" comes from.  Hopefully my concerns are off-base.

serious mark. I think it would be a major mistake for the Democrats to try to have him impeached. He's not winning over anyone. He's his own worst enemy. He's not likely going to pass any significant legislation given how he operates. If he's impeached, though, then Pence will take over. And with a Republican majority, he's far more likely to get stupid legislation passed.

The best chance the Democrats have of winning the White House in three years is a full term by Trump. The Democrats ran an embarrassing campaign with Hillary. First the collusion (now forgotten) to have Hillary be the nominee, despite the fact that she clearly didn't connect with the voters, then her controller-type leading after she won the primary. That she couldn't beat Trump says everything about her. The idea that the Russians somehow convinced a bunch of would-be Clinton voters to vote for Trump is ridiculous conjecture at best. It's a defensive response to the much more likely reality that she was a crappy candidate who ran a crappy campaign. If Obama could've run again, he would've won even if he'd been asleep the entire time. Biden could've definitely put up a solid run, and Sanders had a strong populist movement with him (with a ton of anti-Hillary people on his side who likely abstained from voting, especially once the DNC's antics became public).

Unfortunately, the Democrats have taken their playbook from the Republicans--i.e. blame the other side for everything other the sun and never, never, never relent.
