"NFL. How likely is your kid to make it to the NFL?"

Message Replied To ==========

Think you would let your kids play football? You may want to reconsider....

How much impairment are we talking about here?  Just saying there are noticeable effects on the brain scans....yeah?  So what.  I don't think that should surprise anybody.  Its a very violent game and if you play it long enough you're going to get some injuries......and of course the league minimum salary is $440,000 per year.

How much of a detrimental effect does the CTE have and let's see a sliding scale of say a guy who lasts 15 years in the league vs a guy who has an average career - ie 3.4 years.  Above all, DO NOT try to extrapolate backwards.  That is, do not attempt to claim that because a longtime NFL veteran has some significant impairment why then that means a kid who plays a couple years of high school football (let alone college) must therefore also have significant brain injuries from playing football.  That is just laughable BS without any evidence to support it....just bedwetting/fearmongering for sake of getting attention.

“Every man should endeavor to understand the meaning of subjugation before it is too late… It means the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern schoolteachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the war; will be impressed by the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit objects for derision… It is said slavery is all we are fighting for, and if we give it up we give up all. Even if this were true, which we deny, slavery is not all our enemies are fighting for. It is merely the pretense to establish sectional superiority and a more centralized form of government, and to deprive us of our rights and liberties.”  Maj. General Patrick R. Cleburne, CSA, January 1864

"I yet believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people, not only essential to the adjustment and balance of the general system, but the safeguard to the continuance of a free government. I consider it as the chief source of stability to our political system, whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it." Robert E. Lee
