 Say camp is going to be very very competitive...lots of competition in lotss of positions lending depth. Seems very excited like he knows most of his personnell better than he ever has and the legit competition makes him smile. Said he is really excited to see how Del Rio is as he believes he is a heck of a qb and he regrets putting him in the Arky game

but I'm not excited, in the least, to see Del Rio. In fact, I hope I don't. 

I realize that it's unpleasant to say such a thing about someone, a young(ish) man, who has put so much into playing football for the Florida Gators. Yet, we are discussing a Power 5 football program, not some pee wee squad that will be rewarded with pizza after matches. So we must appreciate the scrutiny that comes with playing for such a high-profile program that attracts upwards of 90k spectators at home and millions of TV viewers from all over the country. 

I also realize that I don't have the professional experise for evaluating Del Rio that Mac and Nuss enjoy. Still, my untrained and amateur eye leads me to the OPINION that LDR just does not have what it takes, phyiscally or mentally, to play (much less start) for the University of Florida Fighting Gators. When he played last season, he looked to my eyes to lack the arm strength, talent, and decision-making skills we need for someone at that position. Even when healthy, he couldn't make all the throws we need him to make and his mistake to completion ratio was...gulp...not good. And yes, he played plenty enough (and against weak teams) to show us all otherwise. keep in mind also that LDR was a walk-on at Bama and failed to secure the starting job at Oregon State. 

Mac and Nuss drive our bus, but if they roll out LDR this season, at any point, he will take snaps away from other QBs. I would hope that all of our scholarshp QBs have more "potential" than LDR, at this stage of his and their careers. I'd rather see what others can do for us because we've seen LDR and our future should not be with him. 

Note, I don't think LDR will start for UF...nor do I antiticipate him seeing substantial minutes in any game this season. I hope that Mac's comments are nothing more than nice things to say about a young man who is well on his way towards earning a degree from UF...while holding a clip board.
