1. Chris Leak-I can't remember ever seeing such an intellectually and athleticaly gifted football player. But its more than that. The world is full of intelligent misfits. The same for athletic misfits. But Chris Leak has more poise than most adults. He has Germanic efficiency, plain spoken Kansas sincerity. You get the feeling that wherever he's been in his life, he has shown up from day one to contribute, to accomplish,to produce, and through it all to maintain a humility that can only be explained by an ability to see beyond the bright and often blinding lights of the glory field to the stars beyond, and keep his perspective about his place in the natural (and opposed to the frenzied human) order of things. I can't call him a fellow Bulldog, but I'm proud to say he is a fellow American.
2. I see great improvement in UGA's psychological performance from last year. The lack of composure last year was ghastly, from the 0 fer on 3rd down, the Edwards drop, the Shockley int. to the George Foster copulation. The difference in the quality of play relative to Georgia's potential was vast. This year, we had some goofs (as did UF) but on the whole I think Georgia played up to its full potential with the personnel on hand. It was almost good enough to win. But in the end the best team won, the result was the right one.
3.The streak will end. No one can say when, but given the progress in Athens it will probably be sooner rather than later. I feel we both, along with LSU, have the three truly ascendant programs in the SEC. Spurrier vs. Goff was joke. It wasn't a fair fight.Zook vs. Richt will be. The games will again be classics. They will be close. There will be much on the line each year. I don't think we have to worry about this thing kicking off at noon for a long time. But even if its over now, and by that I mean that UGA wins next year, it is an phenomenal achievement thats not likely to be duplicated again in any major college rivalry around the country. Whether its this year, or the next or whenever, I will tell you in advance you will get bile and vengeance from those on our side who live only vicariouly through a football team. Just as we have. You won't get anything but a handshake and a respectable tip of the hat from me. And maybe a dose of good natured ribbing.
4. I got a good laugh from a number of the Gator Country gags. The billboard of the frozen over road sign for hell and the flying pig was my favorite. May hell freeze over again soon.
5. SW, I'm really sorry I didn't make it by. As it turned out I was but one of many in our party which elected for a decampment way on the other side of the TailGator. It was just too hectic and too far. O&B, I will look forward to meeting you next year. You are known and liked by us all on the Dawgvent, and we add to everyone elses our prayers for your speedy recovery. Kensler, I hope you are doing well also and a special congrats to you. And finally Crocodile Jim V Georgia Delenda Est- you're a man and a half. Bring it hard- your boys came through again. We are all now officially open for abuse for another 365 days. You have Australia -Ireland today. I'll look forward to seeing it in 72 hours time, and pulling for the Wallabies.I'm happy for all of you, but miserable as hell for my self.
6. I really can't beleive it happened yet again. DANM!
