I don't think Bubba had anything like either to compare. were people mad at GHWB after Hugo and Andrew? I don't recall it.

And what is it that Donald J. Drumpf of all people supposed to say and make it all better? The guy's an #badword#, always been one, always will--why would anyone expect him to have any empathy or say or do anything that might make people feel better. He might if a hurricane were to blow down Mar-A-Lago. But people are outraged that Drumpf shows no sympathy/empathy and his tweet storm was more about how YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE the storm was and how he liked the ratings it was receiving and how it was all about him. Did any really expect him to behave other than an #badword#?

The response to hurricanes/natural disasters starts inside-out.

Local governments need plans to get people out (if possible) and a way to get supplies in. And need to communicate relevant info to constituencies.
