Flew to Dallas. Had a helluva good time the night before and the day of the game. The stadium was awesome. Many gators. Lots of high spirits. Cold beer and decent food.  

 Thought  that Thompson TD run call back killed any hope for momentum the team had. The miss by EP was also deflating. Block a punt, can't get a 1st down, and zero points.  

Mich #10 was a freshman pushing the oline around. 

Team got totally outclassed. Major problems that you lay at the feet of the coaches. That team was not prepared at all.

Could it have been distractions?

The Offense issues you put on Nussmeier. We all know how this plays out. The OC goes first.

I saw as the game wore on that Mac is not the answer as of 9/2/17. Fans talked openly about a team that may have Randy Shannon as the HBC before the year ends, and I am totally good with that. 

I am however a Gator. I want wins. I am discouraged but nonetheless I will load up the car and head to Gainesville next Sat, and the Sat after that and so on and so on. Teams have been crushed in openers since the dawn of the sport. 

Firing Mac= 2 more poor seasons at a minimum.

change head coaches at the end of the season.  He clearly outperformed any reasonable expectations in the first two years, got facilities built, upgraded the talent level on Offense and won our division twice.  He also has what looks to be a very good recruiting class brewing this year. 

All of that says Mac stays and deserves to stay even if the Offense continues to suck eggs.....but Nuss not so much.  He has to go unless we see huge changes on Offense.  We let Chump hang around and hire 3 different OCs.  We cannot begrudge Mac the chance to hire even 2 of them after he's done a helluva lot better than Chump ever did.
