Good progress. We've done everything in the yard we can do ourselves without a chain saw. Lots of sweat and a little blood, but no tears. Our guys are either not up to speed or working for more lucrative customers, but one neighbor's lawn guy will cut and remove the heavy branches and trunks today, and another's got the leaves and debris out of the pool yesterday, and put in a couple of gallons of chlorine. Did I mention the entire block across the street never lost power? After Wilma, they had it back in 24 hours, while we waited 17 days. Considering setting fire to their transformer, but really just wondering why theirs is so much more reliable than ours. Best news is we acquired a generator, so we restarted the refrigerator for what meager supplies could be salvaged, we have wifi, and we're running our large fans. High today will be 90. We'll see how long the gas lasts. 9 out of 10 stations near us either have no gas or no power, or both. The ice cold showers are still a shock, but the feeling ends immediately when you turn the water off. Two minutes later you're sweating again. Envious of my wife, whose office re-opens today. We both work in the CBD, across the street from each other, but parts of our parking garage are below grade, and were flooded. With wifi I can work a little from home. Tensions starting to fray with that family I was happy to have safe and near me 36 hours ago. I've offended my mother-in-law. But the kids are doing great.
