"Fix the offense and the D will not be crushed with exhaustion...."

Message Replied To ==========

More worried about our defense than our offense against Kentucky

Chauncey Gardner played one of the worst games I've seen from a UF safety in a long time.  He missed so many tackles against Kelly, I lost count.  He is playing way out of position at safety.  We need to look at playing someone else there.  Nick Washington isn't good either.  He becomes invisible on quite a few plays and comes over late on pass plays (he was too late on the UT TD pass).  The safeties have to be our worst position on the field right now with the exception of TE, they are nonexistent.

LB is a big problem too.   Mainly because of inexperience and depth.  Amazing that we have to play walkons at LB.  Even more amazing is the fact that we are not recruiting many linebackers for 2018.  Especially with the problems the true freshman are in with the investigation.  Reese and Joseph are fine but not stellar.  Moon has great athleticism but sometimes plays too fast and runs himself out of position.  Jackson needs to get healthy.  It sure would be nice to get these guys some breaks during the game but we have zero depth.

==============================

Notice over the last SEVEN years that it is ALWAYS the second half when we starting showing real weaknesses in D? We cannot keep the D off of the field.  I don't care what the sport is, exhaustion brings breakdowns...especially on defense. A fighters hands fall, the guard don't get back after a FG, legs just don't move.... monster motivation killer...you move into survival mode and away from killer mode.
