After the Vol chick shoved me in her hasty exit from the stadium at the end of the game, our party made it to my car in the student ghetto North of University Avenue and across from the former handball courts in record time. Two of my five passengers had disabilities. Since University Avenue was blocked off, I took a short cut that put us in a worse traffic jam.

We were patient, so all was well until my car bearing 215k miles on it blew up. Fluid of some sort distributed on the street and a horrible racket sounded from the radiator fan, but nothing was indicated on the idiot lights. I parked in a no-parking zone while five amateur mechanic passengers made five distinct diagnoses of the problem.

Fortunately, an elderly friemd of all of us lived nearby. I walked to her house and she drove the infirmed passengers to their cars. Meanwhile, me and a high school teammate piloted the car homeward because the racket had stopped upon recranking--for about three minutes before resuming just as we were stuck in immovable traffic again.

Anyhow, we made it to 18th Street and 16th Avenue when the temperature gauge finally indicated the coolant was hot. I parked the car and called AAA as my buddy got his wife to pick him up. Gainesville Towing was Johnny on the Spot and took the car to Tires Plus on 39th Avenue, which was within walking dstance of my father's house. Tires Plus is a chain, but is the only local garage open on Sunday.

I called them pronto this morning. Turned out, the fan came apart and destroyed the radiator. Repairs required a new radiator, hoses, and fan assembly. Total cost: $1,300 to repair the damage. They fixed it by 3:30 pm, so I am up and running now but decided to wait until Monday before the shakedown drive of 250 miles to return to Georgia. 

Bottom line is, I blew $2,500 to watch the Gators lose in Dallas, but getting shoved in the back by a rude Vol chick escaping the Swamp because she was upset we stole another game from UT made dropping nearly another grand and a half to be there totally worth it.
